Vote NO on the SAVE America Act (H.R. 7296 / S. 1383)

I am writing as your constituent to demand that you vote against the SAVE America Act (H.R. 7296 / S. 1383). Following its narrow passage in the House on February 11, the burden now falls on you to stop this legislation from causing irreparable harm to our democracy. For too long, representatives have sat on their hands while the fundamental right to vote is treated as a political bargaining chip. It is time to do the right thing. The SAVE America Act is not about election integrity; it is a calculated barrier to registration. It would disenfranchise millions of eligible American citizens—specifically the 21 million who lack immediate access to passports or birth certificates. The requirement for in-person document presentation effectively eliminates online and mail-in registration, stripping away the accessibility that millions of disabled, elderly, and rural voters rely on. Furthermore, this bill creates an unfunded mandate for states to overhaul their election infrastructure immediately. It threatens election workers with criminal penalties for administrative errors and forces states to share sensitive voter data with federal agencies without sufficient safeguards. American elections are already secure. Federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting under penalty of prison and deportation. This bill solves a non-existent problem by creating a very real crisis for legal voters. I expect you to prioritize your constituents’ constitutional rights over restrictive bureaucracy.
