An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop ICE in Vermont

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to remove Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations from Vermont, particularly the Law Enforcement Support Center currently located in Williston. I believe this facility conflicts with the state's values and existing policies. Vermont law already restricts local police from participating in federal immigration enforcement except in very limited circumstances. Having ICE's 24/7 operations center processing queries for all federal, state, tribal, and local agencies undermines these protections and creates tension within our communities. Recent events demonstrate the real-world consequences of ICE presence in Vermont. In early March 2026, an ICE enforcement action in South Burlington resulted in violent clashes between protesters. Stop ICE now nationwide, before they can come here.
