An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives

$1 Million a Day for Trash Duty While Veterans Go Without

23 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The National Guard bragged Monday that they’ve cleaned 3.2 miles of roads, hauled 500 bags of trash, and dumped three truckloads of yard waste. Cool. Meanwhile, Trump is telling veterans, working families, and poor kids that America “can’t afford” their Medicaid or food assistance, while burning through $1 million a day to use the Guard as glorified garbage crews. There’s “no money” for more doctors, nurses, or caseworkers at the VA, but apparently Trump can shake a million a day out of the couch cushions for this stunt. And here’s the kicker: he capped deployments at 29 days; because if it were 30, the Guard would actually earn the benefits they deserve. When are you going to stand up for your fellow veterans? You’re in D.C. often. You can see with your own eyes that the Guard isn’t needed there. Send them home.
