No American city should be used as a military training ground!

I am writing with profound urgency and alarm regarding President Trump’s recent remarks calling for American cities to be used as “training grounds” for the military. These statements are unhinged, unconscionable, and represent a direct threat to the safety of every American. Our cities are not battlegrounds — they are our homes. They are where we raise families, go to work, worship, and build community. Under no circumstances should the American military be told to use our homes as training grounds. To suggest otherwise is to declare war on the very people our Constitution was written to protect. This is dangerous, unconstitutional, and fundamentally anti-American. The Posse Comitatus Act and long-standing democratic tradition draw a clear line between our military’s role in defending the nation from external threats and local policing within our borders. Erasing that line would destabilize civil-military relations, politicize the armed forces, and risk unleashing violence against U.S. citizens. Congress must not wait to act. Please do everything within your power to: Publicly reject and condemn this dangerous proposal. Use legislative authority to bar funding or authorization for the military to conduct training or enforcement operations in U.S. cities. Reaffirm constitutional protections that keep the military from being deployed against the American people. This is not a matter of partisan disagreement. It is a matter of preserving the most basic promise of our democracy — that the government will not turn its army on its own citizens. I urge you to act immediately to block this reckless and anti-American plan before it can advance any further.
