Call to Condemn Netanyahu’s Invitation to the White House

I am writing to express my deep concern and strong opposition to the invitation extended to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the White House on February 4, 2025. Given that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, his presence in the United States is not only morally indefensible but also a grave misalignment with our nation’s alleged commitment to human rights and international law.
As you are aware, the ICC has determined that Netanyahu must stand trial for his alleged responsibility for grave violations of human rights in Gaza, where countless Palestinian civilians have suffered under his leadership. The invitation to the White House sends a dangerous message—that the United States is willing to overlook egregious crimes for the sake of political alliances. This contradicts the values of justice, democracy, and accountability that we, as a nation, claim to uphold.
By allowing Netanyahu to enter the U.S., we risk legitimizing his actions and undermining international legal institutions that seek to hold war criminals accountable. At a time when global human rights violations are under intense scrutiny, Congress must take a stand against this reckless decision. I urge you to publicly denounce Netanyahu’s invitation and take legislative action to prevent suspected or convicted war criminals from being welcomed on American soil.
Silence in the face of injustice is complicity. The world is watching how the United States chooses to respond. I urge you to take a firm stance and affirm that we stand with human rights, not with those who violate them.
I look forward to your response and to seeing your leadership in opposing this invitation.
