Co-sponsor H.R. 3493, the Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act

I’m writing to urge you to co-sponsor H.R. 3493, the Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act, introduced by Representative Ro Khanna. This important legislation addresses the outrageous global disparity in prescription drug prices. Right now, Americans are paying up to four times more for the same medications that are sold abroad at a fraction of the cost. This bill would require pharmaceutical companies that receive taxpayer support to disclose their international pricing — and ensure U.S. consumers aren’t being ripped off. We deserve transparency and fairness. American taxpayers help fund the research and development of many of these life-saving drugs, yet we end up paying the highest prices in the world. This is not only unfair— it’s unsustainable. [My husband recently caved and decided to get help for his COPD, but the cost of the drugs that might be best for him are prohibitively expensive. Even with a Medicare Advantage] Please stand with patients and families across the country who are struggling to afford their medications.
