Take Immediate Action to Reject Mike Huckabee for US Ambassador to Israel

I’m writing to demand that you do everything in your power to ensure the Senate reject Mike Huckabee’s nomination for U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Not only is Huckabee grossly unqualified—he is a blatant advocate for apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. His record speaks for itself: • He openly denies the existence of the Palestinian people. • He supports the violent, forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland, which is decidedly illegal under international law. • He endorses Israel’s illegal military occupation and its separate-and-unequal policies. • He bases his positions on Christian Zionist ideology rather than human rights, diplomatic principles, or international law. The U.S. is already complicit in Israel’s crimes through billions of dollars in military aid, which are also in violation of numerous U.S. laws. Confirming Huckabee would further cement America’s role in Israel’s massive war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Senate must not reward open bigotry of any kind, especially not with a diplomatic post. I exhort you to reject his nomination and publicly oppose his appointment immediately, starting with a press release as soon as possible.
