Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
I was going to take a holiday break from trying to save democracy. But I have too many questions I’m still needing answers for.
Why is Elon Musk now asking for entry to the IRS databases? What’s he looking for?
When will official reports be forthcoming outlining all the cuts made thus far by his group? And how much money, and from where, is he saving the country?
Will there be a comparable report outlining all the monetary costs incurred and/or created by his group’s actions as well? Are they potentially costing us more than they’re saving in the long run by rash, uninformed decisions?
Are there any reviews being done by anyone before cuts are made permanent? Or is his assessment all that is required?
(I’m thinking since he’s already unilaterally ruined the lives of thousands and thousands of federal workers by firing them, I probably answered my own question.)
We’re seeing, across the Trump administration, the first ripples of what happens when people don’t have the experience, or temperament, necessary for the jobs they were hired to do.
Does anyone think that young hackers (for whom defeating systems is a game) with no experience comparable to what they are directed to do with highly-secure, vulnerable-to-misuse, valuable-to-our-enemies, fodder-for-scam-artists data is a great plan? How have they possibly been both vetted and granted permission to browse through such highly guarded systems? Systems that have always required the highest of security clearance and restricted access?
Why is this being allowed? Are you asking any questions about any of this?
It seems that instead of continuing to use the same old tired playbook of illegal immigrants voting (they don’t) to try and make voting even harder for actual citizens, screaming crisis at our southern border while the military deployed there is standing around trying to figure out what to do with their days, editing out words and banning books and people you don’t like, and collaborating with Russia to divide and conquer the free world, you might start asking questions, and expecting answers, from those embedded in our government that might actually be doing harm to the country.
Oh, and remember grocery prices? Why aren’t you still screaming about that? We’re waiting for those promises to our pocketbooks to be kept.
When will you actually be putting America first?
