Protect State Voting Rights from Federal Overreach

I am deeply concerned about President Trump's recent executive order attempting to eliminate mail-in ballots and voting machines. This action not only oversteps his constitutional authority but also blatantly disregards the fundamental principle of states' rights in managing their own elections.
As my representative, I urge you to take immediate action to protect our state's autonomy in election management. The president's attempt to federalize our voting systems contradicts long-standing conservative principles and threatens the very fabric of our democracy. His view of states as mere 'agents' of the federal government is alarming and must be challenged.
This is not an isolated incident. President Trump has consistently undermined state authority across various domains, including voter ID laws, immigration policies, healthcare programs, and even the deployment of federal troops without governors' consent. His interference extends to state climate laws, water usage regulations, and threats to withhold federal funding over social policies.
The integrity of our electoral process is at stake. By allowing mail-in voting and utilizing secure voting machines, our state ensures accessibility and accuracy in our elections. These methods have proven effective and secure, and any attempt to eliminate them without state consent is a direct assault on our rights as a state and as voters.
I implore you to speak out against this executive overreach and work with your colleagues to introduce or support legislation that reinforces states' rights in election management. Our constitution clearly delegates this authority to the states, and we must defend this crucial aspect of our federal system.
Time is of the essence. With the next election cycle approaching, we need decisive action to prevent any federal interference in our state's voting procedures. Please prioritize this issue in upcoming legislative sessions and committee meetings.
By standing up for our state's rights, you will not only be upholding the constitution but also protecting the very foundation of our democratic process. I look forward to seeing your public statement and legislative actions on this critical issue.
