Investigate Kash Patel’s Disrespectful “VIP Snorkel” at Pearl Harbor Memorial

I am outraged by reports that FBI Director Kash Patel participated in what government emails described as a “VIP snorkel” excursion around the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. This was not a tourist attraction. It is a military graveyard and sacred resting place for more than 900 American service members killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The USS Arizona Memorial is one of the most solemn sites in our nation. Americans visit it in silence and reverence because it honors heroes who died defending this country. Reports that a high-ranking government official treated this sacred site as the backdrop for a privileged snorkeling excursion are deeply disturbing and profoundly disrespectful. Congress must immediately investigate: Who authorized this excursion; Whether taxpayer funds were used; Whether military resources were diverted for personal leisure; Whether federal ethics or travel rules were violated; And why the American people were not informed about this activity during what was publicly described as official government business. Government emails reportedly show the trip was coordinated as a “VIP snorkel,” despite strict limits on diving and snorkeling around the USS Arizona because it is a protected memorial and war grave. Americans are struggling to pay for groceries, rent, healthcare, and education. Yet we are expected to accept taxpayer-funded excursions for politically connected officials at one of the most sacred military memorials in the United States? This is about basic respect for fallen American heroes. The men entombed in the USS Arizona are not props for photo opportunities, leisure outings, or elite government perks. They gave their lives in service to this nation. Their memory deserves dignity. If an ordinary American attempted an unauthorized recreational activity at a protected military cemetery or national memorial, there would be consequences. Powerful officials should not operate under a separate set of rules. The American people deserve transparency, accountability, and answers. Congress cannot continue looking the other way whenever politically connected officials abuse public trust and taxpayer resources. Investigate this matter fully and publicly. Honor the memory of the fallen sailors and Marines of Pearl Harbor with the seriousness and respect they earned through their sacrifice. Kash Patel is a total embarrassment to the American people.
