Filibuster

The filibuster is a way for the minority to have a voice. It makes it impossible for the majority to pass legislation without hearing the objection from the minority. That voice needs to be respected and given a forum to be expressed. What the filibuster has become is a veto of the minority over the majority and that is not right. The minority should be given a voice, but once they have been heard it is the majority’s place to pass legislation. For these reasons, I support the changing of the current rules regarding the filibuster in the Senate.
