The “Good Guys” Don’t Ban Books - EVER
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
The good guys never ban books. History has shown us, time and again, that those who fear ideas are the ones who try to silence them. Book bans do not protect children—they strip away freedom, limit knowledge, and weaken communities.
As a parent, I take responsibility for deciding what is right for my own child. That decision belongs to me—not the government, not politicians, and not strangers who want to impose their beliefs on my family. But no one has the right to decide what my child—or anyone else’s child—cannot read.
A strong and healthy populace reads widely. We grow when we encounter diverse voices, perspectives, and ideas. Stories build empathy, open minds, and give us the tools to live in a free society. Removing books from schools and libraries denies children and families the chance to learn, to question, and to understand the world more fully.
Do not take this away from my family, our children, or our libraries. Texans deserve the freedom to read, to think, and to grow. Stand on the side of liberty, not censorship.
