An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop White Nationalism

28 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The proposed legislation to declare English as the official language of the United States is misguided and concerning. Promoting one language over others marginalizes minority communities and contradicts the nation's foundational principles of inclusivity and diversity. This bill stems from ideologies rooted in xenophobia and white nationalism, which have no place in a democratic society. Rather than imposing English monolingualism, efforts should be focused on fostering a multicultural environment that celebrates the rich tapestry of languages and cultures in America. The nation's strength lies in its diversity, and legislation that seeks to diminish this only breeds division and intolerance. Representatives should reject this bill and instead work towards policies that bring people together and uphold the civil rights of all citizens, regardless of their linguistic or cultural backgrounds.
