Unfit for the Bench: Emil Bove’s Record Speaks for Itself

Emil Bove cannot be confirmed to the federal bench. A whistleblower alleges that Bove urged DOJ officials to defy court orders and tell judges to “f*** you” to push through deportations (Politico, June 2025). He also played a central role in dropping corruption charges against NYC’s mayor and helped purge career prosecutors after January 6 investigations. These are not the actions of a fair, ethical public servant—they are the tactics of a political enforcer. Confirming Bove would reward defiance of the law with a lifetime judgeship. His nomination threatens judicial independence and the public’s trust in our courts. Until the serious allegations against him are fully investigated, the Senate must reject this appointment.
