No More Suffering: End the Shutdown for SNAP, Seniors, and Soldiers!

To My Elected Representatives,
I am writing today as a deeply concerned American to urge you to take immediate action to end this government shutdown. Every day this continues, real people suffer — and the damage is spreading across every corner of this country.
Families who rely on SNAP to put food on the table are now facing the terrifying question of how they’ll eat. Seniors and people with disabilities are uncertain whether they’ll be able to pay their heating bills this winter because LIHEAP funds are frozen. And let’s not forget the federal employees — from TSA agents to members of our Armed Forces — who are being forced to work without pay. They’re wondering how they’ll cover rent, buy groceries, and support their families while Washington continues to bicker.
This is not leadership. This is neglect.
While politicians argue, Americans are the ones paying the price. The healthcare crisis in this country also can’t wait any longer. There’s a lot of misinformation being spread — but the truth is, undocumented immigrants do not receive full Medicaid benefits. If they receive emergency medical care, it is because of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in 1986, which ensures that no one dies on an emergency room floor because they can’t pay. That’s not about politics — that’s about humanity.
You were elected to serve the people, not party leaders, not donors, and not the President. Your boss is the more than 300 million Americans who live, work, and struggle in this country every day. We are tired of the fighting, the pettiness, and the political games. We are demanding action — now.
End this shutdown immediately. Get the government running. Do your jobs, so that the people you represent can live with dignity and stability again.
