Stop the Insider Trading: Support the No Getting Rich in Congress Act

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to publicly support H.R. 7852, the No Getting Rich in Congress Act, introduced by Rep. Haley Stevens and her colleagues on March 5, 2026.
This bill would prohibit the President, Vice President, all Members of Congress, candidates for federal office, and their spouses and dependents from buying or selling individual stocks, futures, commodities, and cryptocurrency. It also bans former officials from lobbying on behalf of foreign adversaries and prevents sitting members from serving on corporate boards — all with strict reporting and enforcement mechanisms.
According to Congress’s own approval ratings, public trust in our legislative institutions is near an all-time low. Americans across the political spectrum are deeply troubled by the perception — and in many documented cases, the reality — that elected officials trade stocks based on privileged, non-public information they gain through their official duties. This is not a partisan issue. It is a basic matter of integrity and public trust.
I believe strongly that our elected officials should be focused on serving their constituents, not managing investment portfolios or enriching themselves while making decisions that affect millions of Americans. The No Getting Rich in Congress Act draws a clear, enforceable line.
I am asking you to:
1. Publicly endorse H.R. 7852
2. Co-sponsor the bill if you have not already done so
3. Call on House and Senate leadership to bring it to a floor vote
Your constituents are watching, and we want to know that the people representing us are working for us — not for Wall Street.
Thank you for your service and your attention to this important matter. I look forward to hearing where you stand.
Respectfully,
