An open letter to the President

Clemency for survivors of sexual abuse at FCI Dublin

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Please grant clemency to survivors of the FCI Dublin sexual abuse crisis, several of whom have pending petitions. These survivors cannot obtain relief from the sentencing courts because the evidence they have does not meet the overly narrow definition of proof required under the Prison Rape Elimination Act. These survivors experienced extreme violence during the staff abuse crisis at Dublin, chaotic transfer after the closure, and now suffer ongoing retaliation by BOP staff simply because they were at Dublin and spoke out. These survivors have been severely traumatized, and are not receiving essential health care and mental health support. These survivors are victims. They pose no safety risk to society and many are cooperating government witnesses who have good disciplinary records, job-ready skills and families to return to.
