Pandemic Concerns

I'm writing you again today to urge you to follow the scientists guidance rather than bowing to pressure from a small but vocal minority of residents who don't "believe" the science or feel like a wide-open economy is more important. All the signs point to rising case numbers which will result in additional disabled folks and deaths. If we continue to kowtow to the anti-maskers we will end up with a severely cratered economy due to the death toll. The most unfortunate part of all this is that we are watching the virus in real time in other places and failing to take the steps necessary to really mitigate the virus' impacts. Asia and Africa have done a much better job than the West, yet here we are refusing to learn our lesson. I encourage you again to do what is right, not what is expedient or will get you voted. Please protect us by continuing to follow the science. Don't reopen schools this year. Keep kids and their teachers and families safe.
