Protect Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to reverse Trump’s July Executive Order shrinking the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. These National Monuments are treasured by millions of Americans and help to protect precious landscapes and wildlife habitat from damage and destruction by developers. Furthermore, Bears Ears was the first National Monument to be designated at the request of Tribal Nations. It’s essential that we honor the sovereignty of the Tribes and Indigenous peoples’ personal, traditional, and cultural connections to land – and removing millions of acres of land from these National Monuments is counterproductive to that goal. Please take immediate action to restore and protect the boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. Thank you.
