I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to extend Medicare telehealth services beyond the March 31, 2025, expiration date. For millions of Americans, telehealth is not a convenience—it is a necessity. Many people, especially those with energy-limiting conditions, disabilities, and those living in rural areas, rely on telehealth to receive essential medical care. Forcing in-person visits will not save money—it will increase costs through avoidable hospitalizations, transportation needs, and worsened health outcomes.
For those of us who struggle with travel or physical exertion, a single in-person appointment can lead to days or even weeks of recovery. Without telehealth, some will be forced to forgo care altogether, leading to serious and costly complications. Medicare should be about ensuring access to healthcare, not creating barriers.
Please support legislation that protects and expands telehealth access for Medicare beneficiaries. Our healthcare system should be evolving to meet the needs of patients, not turning back the clock on progress.
Thank you for your time and leadership on this issue. I look forward to your response.
