Please Oppose Proposed Cuts to Vital Programs
I am writing as your constituent to respectfully urge you to vote against the budget proposal currently under consideration in Congress. This legislation would significantly reduce funding for essential programs that millions of Americans rely on every day—particularly Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and climate initiatives.
While I understand that budget decisions are complex, this proposal prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthiest individuals and funding for expanded immigration enforcement, while making deep cuts to programs that help families stay healthy, secure, and resilient. At a time when many Americans are still recovering from economic disruptions, these cuts would be especially harmful.
Real Impact on Real People
If passed, this bill could result in 7.6 million people losing access to Medicaid. It could also reduce nutritional support for children, seniors, and families already struggling with food insecurity. Meanwhile, environmental programs designed to reduce pollution and protect public health would be scaled back, despite increasing climate-related threats.
These changes would negatively affect communities across the country. Healthcare clinics may close. More children may go hungry. Emergency relief could be underfunded. And families trying to get by would face greater hardship.
We Can Do Better
I urge you to support a more balanced and compassionate approach to the budget. I hope you will vote to protect these programs and the people they help.
