CDC Should Keep the 5-Day Isolation Guidance for COVID

The CDC should not be changing the COVID isolation period from 5 days to 1 day! This decision is based on absolutely nothing at all. We are already in the middle of a surge (in COVID and other respiratory diseases) which is overwhelming hospitals and still killing people. This reduced caution will make matters much worse. The CDC should be advising more caution and telling people that COVID infections don’t necessarily come with a fever. They should be telling healthcare professionals in hospitals and doctors’ offices at a minimum to mask. Loosening guidelines further is dangerous and inappropriate.
