An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reinstate USAID to combat global poverty and crises

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The closure of USAID without congressional approval raises serious concerns about the continued provision of vital humanitarian aid and development assistance globally. This unilateral decision threatens to undermine decades of progress in fighting poverty, promoting democracy, and responding to crises around the world. USAID's programs have saved countless lives by delivering food, water, healthcare to save children from birth defects and dying from preventable diseases, and other essential services to vulnerable populations. Dismantling this agency without proper legislative oversight is an alarming overstep that jeopardizes America's global leadership and commitment to providing health care to save children from birth defects and dying from preventable diseases. I urge you to take immediate action to reinstate USAID's operations and preserve its critical mission of extending a hand to those most in need. The costs of inaction could prove catastrophic on a global scale.
