Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
We’re negotiating with war criminals.
The Trump administration, while shredding the fabric of the federal government, is also taking this slash and burn strategy globally.
Why is the United States abandoning our European allies?
Why is Trump taking Putin’s side against Ukraine? Why is he mouthing Kremlin propaganda by blaming the victim?
Why is the GOP Congress so limp in replying to this turn of events? Why is it not possible for you all to forcefully come out and say Russia is responsible? Russia is the aggressor? Russia is the villain? And Russia should not gain credibility in the world (with America’s blessing) from its actions in Ukraine?
Why can’t y’all be as vocal in supporting our friends and allies and those who depend on the US (as we depend on them) as you are in supporting every lie and ridiculous idea that comes out of the mouth of Donald Trump?
Where has the GOP concern for Russian aggression gone? Have business interests, which I expect are front and center in any negotiations, become the only metric to base our country’s behavior on?
Putin is no doubt emboldened by Trump’s recent support and probably not particularly interested in negotiations; he is interested in controlling Ukraine. Because we have laid the verbal groundwork that says he can. But first, what’s in it for us.
Trump and his administration, and thus America, is siding with Putin and Russia against a United States ally. And y’all seem content to have it so. Because Trump has a magic plan to save it all.
A Quinnipiac poll released yesterday shows that only 9% of Americans think we should trust Putin; 81% say we shouldn’t.
All while Putin complained that Trump was not moving fast enough against Europe and Ukraine.
But like the man himself posted, “LONG LIVE THE KING.”
It’s like the ideals of America never really existed. And it’s all thanks to the GOP.
