Support the Discharge Petition to Fund DHS Without ICE
11 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
I'm asking you to sign the discharge petition that would fund the Transportation Security Administration, FEMA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Coast Guard, and the Secret Service through September while excluding ICE and CBP funding.
This shutdown has dragged into its second month, and TSA officers have seen unscheduled absences more than double as workers miss paychecks. We need these critical agencies operational. Airport security, disaster response, cybersecurity protection, and coastal defense shouldn't be held hostage to debates over immigration enforcement.
The fatal shooting of two U.S. citizens in Minnesota by federal agents in January makes clear that immigration enforcement needs serious reform before Congress hands over more funding. Democrats have put forward reasonable accountability measures: body cameras, visible identification, no masks, and judicial warrants for arrests on private property. These are basic standards that should apply to any law enforcement agency operating in our communities.
Rep. DeLauro's bill funds the DHS operations that keep Americans safe while creating space to negotiate real reforms to immigration enforcement. The 218 signatures needed for this discharge petition are within reach, and I'm counting on you to be one of them.
