Reproductive Justice is non-negotiable. The right to bodily autonomy and individual healthcare must be codified into law. Abortion is one of many forms of healthcare that is fundamental to human dignity and human development. People of all classes and genders and races need access to unfettered abortion care. Abortions can be spontaneous, they can be medically caused, and they can be surgical procedures.
No person should be criminalized for their healthcare choices, and any limitations or stigmatization of abortion only hurts those who need options the most. The people of your city, county, and state are looking at you as their elected official and all of us are demanding legal, safe, and accessible abortion immediately. This is not the time to think about your fundraising, this is not the time to ask the pollsters. Now is the time to act. Decisively, immediately, and with passion. We the people demand abortion access be codified into law so that all persons may choose for themselves if they want to have one.
This is not something that can be delayed on. Act now, or risk losing your position for your inaction.
