Democracy requires free and fair elections. To achieve that end and address voter suppression issues laid bare by our last election, Congress must pass The For the People Act (H.R. 1 and S. 1) which provides for automatic voter registration, early voting, and expanded mail-in voting. It also authorizes funds to upgrade state voting systems and requires nonpartisan redistricting.
Polling by Data for Progress and Vote Save America shows that these provisions have wide bipartisan support. 68% percent approve overall of the provisions in the bill. On specific items, 86% percent support preventing foreign interference in our elections; 74% percent want to see nonpartisan redistricting; 68% percent want to see 15 days of early voting; 60% want same day voter registration; 58% percent of us want to be able to vote by mail.
It is time to finally end gerrymandering and protect each citizen's right to vote. Uphold your oath to support the constitution and vote yes on The For The People Act. Your constituents strongly support it.
