When did we become the party of Division, Exclusion, and Intolerance?

I am writing with a question that has been weighing on my mind regarding the current direction of the Republican Party. In recent years, it seems as though the party is increasingly aligning itself with harmful ideologies and behaviors, and I find myself wondering: Is the Republican Party now the party of hate?
When I look at the policies being promoted and the rhetoric being used, I can’t help but notice patterns that seem to align with the concepts of Division, Exclusion, and Intolerance (DEI), which are often associated with hate. These actions don’t seem to be promoting unity or respect for diversity, but instead seem to be reinforcing harmful divisions within our society.
It also appears that if you’re not a mediocre white man, you are seen as a DEI hire—someone included for diversity reasons rather than on merit. This perpetuates a narrative of exclusion, where the focus is on superficial attributes rather than the values of equality, fairness, and respect that should guide our nation.
As a concerned citizen, I urge you to reflect on whether the current direction of the Republican Party truly represents the principles of justice and meritocracy that our nation was built upon, or if it’s simply a defense of white male mediocrity. Are we becoming increasingly defined by hate and division?
I would greatly appreciate your response on this matter and any insight you can provide into how the party plans to address these concerns moving forward. I realize you may not respond to me, as I am just a Hispanic, educated Republican woman who raised children, ran a very successful company, and paid for private schools—never expecting public schools to teach my Christian beliefs without a man’s “help.”
