An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Take a Stand: Push Back on Executive Orders & Safeguard Voter Rights!

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Trump’s new executive order is troubling. It appears to limit acceptable voter ID to passports, which could drastically reduce voter registration. With Real ID already in place, this restriction shouldn’t be necessary. Requiring a passport to register is essentially a form of taxation without representation. At $140, it’s an unnecessary burden on people who may already be struggling to afford basic necessities. This order would make voting accessible only to those who can afford it, disadvantaging the working class, seniors, young people, and low-income Americans. In the U.S., only legal citizens can vote in federal elections, with very few exceptions for local elections. Our democracy was built to represent all people, not just a privileged few. We must push for legislation that protects voting rights for ALL Americans. Thank you.
