Stop Corruption - Save the Ohio Elections Commission

I am writing to urge you to protect the integrity of Ohio’s electoral system by taking action to preserve the Ohio Elections Commission. The proposal to dismantle the Commission and instead allow lawmakers to appoint individuals who would be responsible for investigating them for potential fraud and abuse is deeply troubling. This change threatens the foundation of fair and impartial oversight. It effectively removes a critical layer of accountability and opens the door to increased political corruption. The Ohio Elections Commission has served as an independent body that enforces our election laws and holds public officials accountable. Its removal would erode public trust and confidence in our democratic institutions at a time when that trust is already fragile. We must not allow those in power to police themselves. Doing so undermines the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability that our democracy depends on. Governor DeWine, I respectfully urge you to use your authority to protect the Ohio Elections Commission and stand against any efforts that weaken oversight of our electoral process.
