An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Force a Vote on H.Con.Res. 106 to End the Unauthorized Oil Blockade on Cuba

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Bring H.Con.Res. 106 to the House floor for a vote now. Rep. Nydia Velázquez's Cuba War Powers Resolution is a privileged resolution — it doesn't need Speaker Mike Johnson's approval to move forward. House Democratic leaders have no excuse for sitting on it. The Trump administration's oil blockade has allowed only a single tanker to dock in Cuba over the past seven months. The result: six nationwide grid collapses this year, over 9 million people left without power for stretches beyond 20 hours, and a healthcare system that was once the envy of the developing world now rationing care. This is a man-made catastrophe, and U.S. policy is driving it. In April, the Senate came within a handful of votes of passing a similar resolution — 45 advocacy groups, including National Nurses United, Indivisible, and Win Without War, are now calling on the House to match that moment. Take the vote.
