Stop SB435, quit meddling with our children’s lives

Let children be children. SB435 is a pathetic attempt for old white men to suppress the most vulnerable. The Human Rights Campaign has said “Transgender students have played sports consistent with their gender identity in many states across the country, in some cases for decades, and there simply have not been any problems.” If you believe in Women’s Rights, and you believe this bill is in support of that, you are completely wrong. A woman is a woman, whether they were born that way or not. To support women, instead of passing this destructive bill which would demolish the already-low self-esteem of those children who are already more likely to attempt suicide, why not pass bills that make birth control, women’s reproductive health, or mammograms completely free? Why not support equal-pay bills? Targeting transgender youth is an abhorrent way to spend time in elected office, no matter how afraid you are of people who just want to be true to themselves.
