An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect the Rule of Law

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

There are several things I'm not understanding about the situation regarding Venezuelans being deported to an El Salvador supermax prison. It’s my understanding that people are typically deported to their own country. Why were these people deported to a prison? Why were they deported to El Salvador? They’ve been described as criminals, but it seems that they've not been convicted of anything. In spite of this, they're being sent to prison—in a country that isn't America or Venezuela. Most alarmingly, they were sent there without any due process. No trial. No court. No conviction. For some of them, it was based on their tattoos? Why are you not outraged by this? I am. I implore you to investigate and respond appropriately to maintain the rule of law in our country.
