Pass HB193: Give Alaska Workers Paid Sick Days and Parental Leave

Alaska needs HB193. Vote to pass this bill and give workers in this state what most of the country already has: paid sick days and a parental leave program that doesn't force new parents to choose between their paycheck and their newborn.
Right now, too many Alaskans go to work sick because they cannot afford to stay home. They send sick kids to school for the same reason. HB193 sets a minimum paid sick leave standard that changes that calculus. The bill also establishes a paid parental leave program funded through modest employer surcharges, so working families can bond with a new child without falling behind on rent.
Alaska consistently ranks among the states with the fewest worker protections. This bill, carried by a broad coalition including sponsors Carolyn Hall, William Fields, Ashley Carrick, Ted Eischeid, Rebecca Himschoot, and Sara Hannan, is a practical fix with real employer accountability built in. Pass HB193.
