VENEZUELA: a step too far. NO ILLEGAL WAR. Check Trump NOW. DO YOUR JOB

I am outraged and alarmed by Trump's illegal acts of aggression against Venezuela and Maduro. I am also beyond appalled by Congress's feckless failure to use its constitutional powers. Bombing a civilian airport is an act of war. Targetting and kidnapping a head of state makes the world less safe. It is not an acceptable policy or action, least of all without Congressional input, regardless of maduro's indictment. We the people did not vote for imposing regime changes or waging war without congressional approval. Trump's actions in Venezuela are a violation of international sovereignty. Congress and the American people were bypassed. The Gang of Eight was not informed. Can I remind you that CONGRESS, NOT the president, HOLDS THE CONSTITUTIONAL POWER TO DECLARE WAR?. Let me also remind you that invading Venezuela is wildly UNPOPULAR with us, the people. I ask you to: immediately speak out against this illegal act of war; you can both acknowledge the abuses of the Maduro regime AND condemn an illegal response. Please also demand a legal written justification for the Trump actions. Hold House and Senate foreign affairs committee hearings on the decision making, legality, and diplomatic and strategic risks of the strikes and kidnapping. Demand an immediate briefing for the gang of 8. AND: TAKE BACK THE CONSTITIONALLY ENSHRINED POWERS OF CONGRESS NOW: that means WAR POWERS, TARIFF POWERS and APPROPRIATIONS. Congress needs to show that there will be consequences for presidential overreach. HOW MUCH ELSE does Trump have to violate, endanger, steal, destroy, imperil and violate before you restore the rule of law and the constitution? We see that this is all one big distraction from the Epstein files. It is intolerable that the U.S. is going to war, making children hungry and causing deaths at home and abroad, all to protect the powerful men (including Trump) who were complicit in the largest pedophile sex trafficking ring in US history.
