An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop the Racist Targeting of Gary, Indiana's Community

225 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

What is happening in Gary, Indiana is not a policy failure — it is a targeted attack on a predominantly Black community, and I expect you to treat it with that urgency. Prioritizing a data center over the actual people who live there is not development — it is displacement, and it needs to stop now. I want to know specifically what you are doing, right now, to hold those responsible accountable and to prevent this from happening in Gary and in every city across this country. Racism and corruption do not fix themselves. They persist because elected officials look the other way or offer empty statements while communities suffer real consequences. That ends here. I expect concrete action: investigations, legislation, and public accountability — not a form letter telling me you share my concerns. This community deserves better, and so does every predominantly Black community facing the same systemic targeting. Tell me what you are going to do, and then do it.
