Fight Oligarchy: Tax the Rich

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to demand immediate, progressive tax reform that ensures the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share. Our nation is slipping toward an oligarchy where a small elite controls politics, media, and the economy, while the middle class bears the burden of rising costs and stagnant wages. This concentration of wealth undermines the foundational promise of equal opportunity and fuels social instability. A robust, graduated tax on high incomes and capital gains would fund essential services—education, healthcare, infrastructure—and close the widening gap between the richest 1 % and the rest of us. It would also curb the outsized political influence that comes with vast fortunes, restoring democratic accountability. By closing loopholes and eliminating preferential treatment for the ultra‑wealthy, we can create a more equitable tax system that reflects our shared responsibility to the common good. Please act now to pass legislation that taxes the rich fairly, safeguards our democracy, and guarantees a future where prosperity is shared, not hoarded.
