An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Oppose S. 65 – Concealed Carry Reciprocity Endangers Public Safety

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I’m deeply concerned about the national concealed carry reciprocity bill, S. 65. This legislation poses a direct threat to public safety, undermines the authority of local law enforcement, and increases the risk of gun violence across our communities. Concealed carry reciprocity would force Wisconsin to honor permits from states with weaker standards, including those that allow individuals with minimal training—or troubling histories—to carry hidden firearms. This is not reciprocity; it’s recklessness. Law enforcement officials and gun violence survivors have spoken out against this bill, and I urge you to stand with them by withholding your support. We deserve laws that reflect the will and safety of our communities—not a race to the bottom in gun policy. Please oppose S. 65 and any efforts to weaken Wisconsin’s ability to protect its residents. Thank you for your time and service.
