The Senate needs to reclaim the Congressional oversight of USAID. It was illegally usurped by the U.S. Secretary of State. Bill S. 491, the Foreign Assistance Accountability and Oversight Act, would ensure that the State Department’s Director of Foreign Assistance be confirmed by the Senate and reaffirm Congressional accountability for crucial lifesaving foreign assistance. Please cosponsor and advance S. 491.
