End unconstitutional ICE raids, uphold due process for immigrants

The recent ICE raid on a local business establishment, where undocumented residents and citizens were detained without a warrant, is a flagrant violation of the Fourth Amendment's protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. Among those detained was a U.S. military veteran whose service documentation was unjustly questioned. Such actions are unconstitutional and an affront to civil liberties. ICE's aggressive tactics to apprehend undocumented immigrants are causing widespread fear and undermining trust in law enforcement within immigrant communities. These heavy-handed approaches are counterproductive and fail to uphold American values of dignity and due process. We call for an immediate halt to warrantless raids and the inhumane treatment of undocumented people, many of whom have lived and worked in our communities for years. There must be a shift towards humane and constitutional immigration policies that keep families together and provide paths to legal status. No one should live in constant dread of being separated from loved ones through deportation.
