An open letter to the U.S. Senate

No one is protected, in time they will come for you.

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

This administration wants to shut down libraries and the Smithsonian!? What is it they are afraid of or don't want us to see? These are not partisan institutions - and elected officials on both sides of the aisle should be shouting in opposition. In the beginning, Martin Niemoller was a supporter of the German Nazi party, but over time he realized that no one was safe from the dangers of fascism. Because we have libraries and museums, his famous words were preserved: First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me. I urge you to speak out now - before there is no one left to speak for you.
