I remember very clearly when Albertsons and Safeway merged and how many grocery stores closed following that merger. I adamantly oppose the merger of Kroger and Albertsons. I think that it will not only mean more food deserts and less competition, but more injustice for farmers, workers and consumers alike. Right now throughout the Denver metro area The only competition between grocery stores is between Safeway and Kroger, marketed as King Soopers in my area. If these two merge, for all intents and purposes the merged corporate entity will be working with a monopoly. I can't help but believe that that will be the case in many many many areas throughout the country. I adamantly ask that you pressure the FTC and any other regulatory agencies to reject the merger between Kroger and Albertsons. Thank you.
