I am writing as a constituent deeply concerned about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Reports from international organizations, human rights groups, and aid agencies make it clear that the current Israeli military actions have resulted in catastrophic loss of civilian life, widespread famine, and conditions that constitute collective punishment. These actions are not only devastating for the people of Gaza but also undermine the values of justice, human dignity, and peace that we as Texans and Americans should stand for.
I urge you, as my elected representative, to:
1. End Support and Funding – Call for the cessation of U.S. taxpayer funding that enables military operations contributing to famine, displacement, and the killing of civilians in Gaza. Our tax dollars should never be used to support what many international observers have identified as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
2. Demand an Immediate Ceasefire – Publicly and firmly advocate for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to halt the ongoing bloodshed. A ceasefire is the first step toward creating the conditions necessary for meaningful negotiations and a just resolution.
3. Prioritize Humanitarian Aid – Support efforts that ensure unimpeded humanitarian assistance, including food, water, medicine, and shelter, to the millions of people in Gaza who are suffering.
Texans expect their leaders to uphold human rights and to ensure that our policies reflect compassion and justice rather than complicity in atrocities. Your leadership on this issue could help save countless lives and affirm the values we claim to cherish as a state and a nation.
I respectfully ask you to take immediate action and use your voice and your influence to oppose support for military operations in Gaza, to advocate for an end to this offensive, and to push for the protection of innocent civilians.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing you stand on the side of humanity and peace.
