I am writing to urge you to declare a state of emergency and direct state resources to investigate and prosecute crimes documented in the Epstein files. The federal investigation into Epstein's co-conspirators is dead. The FBI closed it in July 2025 with a two-page memo claiming no evidence existed, despite nearly fifty women giving federal prosecutors names of roughly twenty co-conspirators, descriptions of how the operation worked, and financing details.
The SDNY had an active investigation that DOJ headquarters ordered transferred out and then stopped. Attorney General Bondi has indicted zero co-conspirators in over a year. When Congress forced partial file release, the DOJ included survivors' personal information and intimate abuse details while protecting abusers' names. Director Patel attacked survivors' credibility before Congress. The federal government has spent over a year covering this up.
Our federal system was designed specifically to prevent federal dictatorship by giving states independent governments, constitutions, criminal codes, courts, prosecutors, police, and prisons. When federal law enforcement has been compromised, state authorities must act. Presidential pardons do not apply to state crimes. You have the constitutional authority and moral obligation to investigate child sex trafficking when those responsible for investigating at the federal level have been compromised.
A state of emergency unlocks broad authority to create special investigative task forces, direct state resources, bypass bureaucratic timelines, and act without legislative approval. You can establish a task force to investigate using state criminal codes, courts, and grand juries. Line attorneys who received orders to shut down federal investigations would face state felony charges no pardon can reach.
This is not partisan. This is what law enforcement does when the system designed to deliver justice has failed. For detailed analysis of the federal investigation's collapse, see https://cmarmitage.substack.com/p/does-an-authoritarian-takeover-of
I urge you to declare a state of emergency immediately and begin this investigation. Our state has the power to act where the federal government will not.
