An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop the illegal deportations and court order defiance!

23 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The Trump administration's disturbing decision to deport hundreds of immigrants to El Salvador under an arcane wartime law, despite a federal judge's order to halt the removals, raises grave concerns about respect for the rule of law and human rights. Forcibly removing individuals en masse without due process or evidence of wrongdoing is a flagrant violation of constitutional protections and international norms. This egregious overreach of executive power cannot be tolerated in a democratic society. We must hold the administration accountable for defying a lawful court order and ensure that such reckless actions do not reoccur. The independence of the judiciary and the fundamental rights of all people within our borders must be safeguarded against any further erosion. A full investigation into this matter is warranted to uphold the principles of justice and human dignity.
