Oppose Any and All Legislation Attacking Trans People

I am writing to urge you to oppose any and all legislation that targets transgender people and restricts their rights. Trans people are people, and they should not be subject to unnecessary restrictions on their healthcare, education, or any other aspect of their lives. The recent executive order targeting the healthcare of anyone under 19 is particularly egregious. Medical decisions should be made between doctors, patients, and—when applicable—parents. Politicians have no place interfering in private medical matters. Furthermore, 19-year-olds are legal adults. Stripping them of their right to make healthcare decisions sets a dangerous precedent that undermines bodily autonomy for all. These attacks on trans rights are cruel, unnecessary, and in direct opposition to the fundamental principles of individual liberty and equal protection under the law.
