An open letter to the U.S. Senate

PBS and stand up against assault on senators!

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

First, I understand that the House passed the rescission package that defunds PBS and some foreign aid. Generations of my family have relied on PBS news coverage and children’s programming! I expect the Senator to vote no to defunding/reduced funding when the time comes. These funds were already allocated and should be paid out - budgets are build on these funds !!! If we can afford 140M for an unnecessary military invasion of Los Angeles we can keep funding PBS. Second, I am appalled by the assault on Senator Padilla yesterday. What the heck is happening in our country? This is not a dictatorship! We don’t assault Senators for asking a question. Congress needs to condemn these actions and demand a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the role of Secretary Noem and the security personnel involved. Will you?! The silence of lawmakers in the face of these authoritarian tactics is unacceptable and threatens the freedom of all Americans. The Senator needs to speak out against these abuses of power or resign. Thanks.
