I’m hugely alarmed that Brad Lander, the New York City comptroller, was just arrested by federal agents. What the hell is happening in our country? The continuing arrests of (and horrific violence against) Democratic lawmakers are outrageous and unacceptable. We don’t live in a dictatorship, and, as this Saturday’s protests proved, we don’t want to. What happens when GOP lawmakers don’t bend over backwards far enough to placate the Felon in Chief, and he discards them as he has done with so many of his prior sycophants? ICE is out of control. Kristi Noem needs to face accountability, Lander needs to be released, and the arrests need to stop immediately if not sooner. I expect you to make a strong statement saying as much, if you haven’t already. The window for preserving our republic seems to be closing rapidly. I believe that it is later than most of us realize or admit. Please take forceful action NOW to preserve our constitutionally protected liberties from the crazy whims of the wannabe dictator currently occupying our White House.
