I’m shocked and appalled that the ICE gestapo has been set loose to rampage in Chicago. They grab people off the street if they don’t like how they look. There are no warrants for arrest, no search warrants, no LEGAL basis under our Constitution for any of this! There is also no credible emergency to justify this either. The reports about the apartment building that was invaded in Chicago are horrifying! Totally innocent people pulled out of their homes in the middle of the night and zip tied. Their terrified children treated the same way. This should never happen!!! Secondary to all of that human suffering, who pays for all the doors they smashed in? All of the destruction these out of control officers did inside the apartments. This is completely unacceptable! Mr. Trump is not acting as President of the United States. He is not protecting all Americans. He has declared war on anyone who disagrees with him (and this is, frankly, most of the country at this point.) He is instituting Project 2025 which he disavowed when running for president because EVERYONE hated it and he knew it so he had to back off. Now he and Russell Vogt are implementing it despite the fact that there is no popular support for the plan. It consolidates power in Trump’s hands. The ICE abuses are part of the plan. We need to get back to a society that has due process for everyone and values fairness. And how about some diversity, equity and inclusion for our diverse population! Empathy for others is a good thing, not a bad thing! We need to get back to the values held by the framers of the Constitution (leaving out the misogyny and the slavery, of course.) Stop sending troops and ICE into our streets! Stop bombing little boats off Venezuela! Stop criminalizing our free speech! Stop!
