Oppose David Bragdon for Federal Bench in NC. Another Fringe Nominee

I’m writing to express my strong opposition to the nomination of David Bragdon for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. As a concerned constituent justice and fairness are of great concern right now. Plus anyone from a political fringe think tank like the Heritage Society is automatic disqualification in my view. I urge you to vote against his confirmation based on his extreme ideological positions that threaten the impartiality required of a federal judge. He might be well educated, but it doesn’t make him a fair judge. Mr. Bragdon's public statements on critical issues demonstrate a troubling bias that would compromise his ability to render fair and objective judgments. His unwavering support for the death penalty, despite well-documented concerns about racial bias in its application, shows a disregard for equal justice under the law. His equation of abortion with murder and suggestion that women facing unintended pregnancies "must face consequences" reveals a stance that could severely restrict reproductive rights for all women. Of particular concern is Mr. Bragdon's expressed disdain for individuals experiencing poverty and his criticism of social welfare programs. Such views raise serious doubts about his capacity to fairly adjudicate cases involving economically disadvantaged litigants or matters related to social services. That in itself isn’t equal justice. The widespread opposition to Mr. Bragdon's nomination from respected civil rights organizations underscores the gravity of this appointment. These groups, rightly recognize the potential long-term impact of placing an ideologue in this powerful position. Please vote to reject David Bragdon's nomination and instead support judicial candidates who demonstrate a commitment to impartiality, fairness, and respect for established legal precedents.
